Never Give In to Darkness…Meet all Parts of Yourself in Relationship

By Justin V Gates

Axiom of Light:

“Never give in to darkness. Should an insidious influence or force take control of a situation, let calm and peace be your guide.”

Darkness rarely arrives declaring itself. It creeps in quietly through fear, anger, confusion, and despair. It attempts to influence our thoughts, pervert our motives, and provoke reactions that move us further away from wisdom and harmony. In these moments, the true discipline of the Luminari is revealed.

The Way of Ashla does not teach us to fight darkness with more darkness. It teaches us to meet it with calm, clarity, and inner peace. We are not meant to be at war with ourselves, we are meant to meet all parts of ourselves and integrate.

When chaos swells around you, the greatest strength is not aggression but composure. A calm mind allows you to see clearly. A peaceful heart prevents the corruption of your motives. When you remain centered, you deny darkness the power it seeks over your thoughts and actions.

The Luminari cultivate this steadiness through discipline. Meditation, reflection, physical training, and mindful awareness strengthen the mind and spirit. These practices prepare us for moments when adversity appears, ensuring that we respond with wisdom rather than impulse.

This line in our Student Code reminds us:

Emotion; yet Peace.

We are not asked to suppress our emotions. We are asked to govern them with awareness. Meet them where they are, sit with them as long as we can, and honor their message.

When darkness presses upon your life, breathe. Slow your thoughts. Feel the moment without surrendering to it. Calmness restores balance, and balance restores clarity. A person who refuses to yield to darkness becomes a source of Light for others. Your steadiness can guide those who are lost in fear and confusion.

Stand firm on the path of Light. When you do, even the deepest shadows cannot overcome you.

With Love and Gratitude….Ad Lucem!

Is it intuition… or is it fear pretending to guide you?

In this episode of The New Ashla Podcast, Justin V. Gates and Michael Perry explore how to tell the difference between true inner guidance and conditioned fear. Intuition is quiet, clear, and steady. Fear is urgent, loud, and often rooted in old wounds, survival patterns, and insecurity.
